Subject: IM PREACHING ON SUNDAY.................. |
Bible Note: CDBJ I know what you mean. I love new Christians they get right up into peoples faces and preach, and wonder why everyone avoids them like the plague. I live near USF and on campus they have a weekly rummage sell on the "commons". A young evangelist was in town and he talked about the what a ripe harvest filed the campus was and that he there every week during the sale. I told him I would meet him. I never found him. But what I found was interesting. The Mormons had two very articulate young men sharing their faith. the Jehovah Witnesses had a group nicely dressed sharing their faith. The witches had two lovely ladies sharing their faith. And the atheist had about 4 of sharpest most logic sounding people there sharing their lack of faith. All these people were college campus age and all were very nice to talk to, very sociable and very out going. I then found the Christian representation, I figure the guy burned his brain out about 15 years ago on drugs, you really couldn’t talk to him, he ranted and raved about people going to hell. I told this story to show the problem within the Christian community all these other various groups had representation from among the student body but the not the Christians. To get a Christian presence there is now a paid ChiAlpha missionary on campus but as far as I know no Christian students willing to be a visible Christian witness. EdB |
