Subject: Is cremation right for believers? |
Bible Note: Ken John Good site. Let me add in this day and age where nothing is sacred I have seen a whole cemetery dug up with most coffins totally destroyed. Of the ones that survived the digging they were reburied in a slit trench one beside the other with no thought of husband wife or family relationship. Best estimates figured over half the bodies were lost or had suffered such severe damage that the original bodies were no longer intact. In other words pieces were scattered everywhere. This was done so a road could be put through. The other thing that really bothers me is the outrageous prices charged for a “normal” burial. Most of the time this is done by a grieving family that is encouraged to spend more to show their true love and sense of lost. Terms like “this is your loved one, surely few extra dollars to bury him right is going to be money well spent” or “Sure we can do it cheaper but is that what you really want? Just any old thing. Don’t you think a meaningful last goodbye is in order here?” In any case whether buried or cremated do your self, your family, everyone a favor make and provide for your last wishes before the actual event. Many funeral homes have prepaid, prearranged packages. This what my parents did and let me tell you it was a blessing not having to deal with any arrangements at the time. Truly they had great love for me by sparing me this agony. I will do the same for my loved ones. EdB |
