Bible Question:
I asked this question before but I dont get the right answer: In this verse Peter said that Christ know all things. Joh 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep In the book of Matthew the author write that Jesus marvelled when he found such great faith in the person of roman officer. Mt 8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. My question is who say/write the true how come that Jesus marvelled if he knew all things He must expected that faith of roman officer, but He marvelled? God bless, Johnny |
Bible Answer: Hi Johnny, The view that treats Jesus as God in a body is a caricature of the biblical data, and does not to it justice. Jesus is not God in a body. The Bible presents him as having two natures, that of God and man. Jesus is truly man and truly God. And this is the answer to your question. As a true human person he "kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. (Luke 2:52) And since he is truly God, in him, "are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Col 2:3 So Peter was right. Jesus the Son of God does know all things. And Jesus the son of man spoke truly when he said no MAN knows the hour the Father has set. As a man Jesus could be surprised. As a man Jesus could suffer. As a man Jesus could take your place and mine on the cross. 1 Tim 3:16 By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.
