Subject: dead bury the dead? |
Bible Note: Dear Ed, I would have to agree with Simchat in this regard: A good concordance(preferably a Strong's) is vital to our understanding of the Bible. I say this for this reason: I prefer the KJV(Although I do not try to force that view on others. And I do like the NASB), and had a hard time understanding this verse: Luke 14:26--"If any [man] come to me, and HATE not his father, and mother,...cannot be my disciple." Now, the word "hate" here does not mean, well, "hate". It means "love less". In other word, "If one does not LOVE his family LESS than he loves Me, cannot be my disciple." It is the difference between the 'logos'(printed) word, and the 'rhema'(meaning) word. He is exalted, the King is exalted on High!! 2nd Samuel 22 |
