Subject: Is is right to call money a seed? |
Bible Note: Hi Tim, Yes, since you mention it I do remember the Grandville Sharp rule. Thanks for the come back. Some times people seem to spend more time trying to explain away God's word instead of just believing it! There are a lot of translations out there. Sometimes for enjoyment I just like to sit down and read the Living Bible. It's not the best but it can sure be a blessing to those that aren't in to the meat of God's word or new believers. I just sent a copy to my eighty two year old uncle. He was a B-24 pilot in world war two and has been very bitter toward God as a result of a lot of very close friends that he lost. His father was a believer and loved Jesus very much, and would witness to my uncle a lot. This was my grandfather who died of Alzheimer's disease. His terrible dying tour my uncle up, that God would do such a thing to one of His own. I hadn't believed on the Lord until twenty years after his death. Anyway to make a long short my uncle is an agnostic. Every time my wife and I would take the one hundred mile trip over to visit my aunt and uncle, I would always find a way to talk to him about the Lord. He was always very bitter and negative toward anything I had to say about the Bible. This last time we went over was just before Thanksgiving and he was in a nursing home, my aunt has been living by herself for about six months and has not been able to bring him home in that period. I was able to bring him home for the day since I am strong enough to handle him. When I got him home he got big tears in his eyes and said that he never expected to see his home again. When I took him back to the nursing home later that day I told him how much I loved him and I gave him a big hug and a kiss. I didn't mention the Lord or the Bible on this trip at all but right out of a clear blue sky he ask me if I could get him a copy of the New Testament in large print; he said, oh well what do I know anyway! I went out of that place crying and praising the Lord. Needless to say I got him a copy of the Living Bible in giant print. I have been on my knees before the Lord praying that He would reveal the truth of Jesus to him. I sent the Bible by priority mail with a note that said, read the book of John and ask God to show you the truth of his word and I sure hope you believe God's word so you can be in on best family reunion in history. CDBJ P.S. any prayers for him would be highly appreciated; I don't think he has very long to go. |
