Bible Question: As Christians we are called to be a light, to live so others see the difference in us compared to the way of the world. What do you think about Christians who have movie stations like HBO etc. Some Christians do not have television because of the offensive nature of many programs. What is a Christian response to these issues? |
Bible Answer: "Don't handle, don't eat, don't touch." 20 You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the evil powers of this world. So why do you keep on following rules of the world, such as, 21 "Don't handle, don't eat, don't touch." 22 Such rules are mere human teaching about things that are gone as soon as we use them. 23 These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, humility, and severe bodily discipline. But they have no effect when it comes to conquering a person's evil thoughts and desires. Colossians 2:20-23 New Living Translation "the man who does not...must not condemn the man who does" 1 Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. 2 One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3 The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4 Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. Romans 14:1-4 NIV |
