Subject: tell me the bible phrase |
Bible Note: Greetings Kang, It sounds to me like your friend wants to sow his wild oats while he is young and then pray for as crop failure! If I would have followed a course of action like that I would have likely been dead and gone many years ago. Your friend is being dissuaded into thinking that the world is more fun then living a life with Christ; he couldn’t be further from the truth. Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? As long as one isn’t under the protective care that God can provide he is considered God’s enemy. Mark 8:37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? It isn’t a very wise man that would choose to be God’s enemy rather then one of God’s adopted sons. People strive to get things in this world rather then seeking the Lord first and the best that He has for a person in His Son. Luke 12:15-20 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. [16] And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: [17] And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? [18] And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. [19] And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. [20] But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? The world looks very exciting to a young person but the way of the world is actually a satanic trap. 1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. Have your friend read the New Testament and tell him to pray and ask God to speak to him through the Bible. Start him off in the book of Matthew and tell him to concentrate on what God wants to show him. 1 Peter 5:6-11 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: [7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. [8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: [9] Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. [10] But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. [11] To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Your young friend should turn to God for help while God is offering there may come a time when he will be consumed by the trap of the world and it will be hard for him to find God. Ephes. 4:17-23 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, [18] Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: [19] Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. [20] But ye have not so learned Christ; [21] If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: [22] That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; [23] And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; Genesis 6:3 (A) And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man I trusted in the Lord Jesus and became a child of God in Oct of 1965 and I wouldn’t want to have lived one minute of my live with out His love and protection and the promise that he has given me in Jesus, everlasting life. Everyone that is outside of God’s family is an enemy of the cross of Christ and is walking on very thin ice, as it were, and over very deep water, far from shore! Does your friend want an abundant life; that’s why Jesus came. John 10:10 (B) I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. That’s talking about a full and meaningful live. Have a great day, CDBJ |
