Bible Note: Darcy, there are many illustrations we use to try to explain the Trinity. They aren't three parts of a whole. Nor are they three different forms of one person, either ... they all exist all of the time, at the same time. The frozen lake illustration is good (one of the better ones), but like the water, egg, shamrock, triangle, human mind, infinity, marriage, apple (or another food), or even me (son, husband, father) ... they all fall short.
