Subject: Greek genitive cases of the word "of" |
Bible Note: Hi Emmaus, It is good to have you on the forum. The capitalization of words shows "interpretation" rather than translation. In this case you choose Gift and I choose gift. As a member of the RCC you would probably choose "Mother" of God to describe Mary. I would put it as the lower case "mother". Someday we will learn the more accurate interpretations. I suppose we may have to wait until heaven when we learn from the Teacher. Job 37:22, "Behold, God is exalted in His [spiritual?] power; Who is a teacher like (Him)? 23 Who has appointed Him His way, And who has said, 'Thou hast done wrong'? 24 Remember that you should exalt His work, Of which men have sung." 1) We have all seen His work, but we see it from afar. Isaiah 30:20, "Although the Lord has given you bread of privation and water of oppression, (He), your Teacher will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will behold your Teacher." 2) My hope is that all men will get to know Him. I trust that we can know the Teacher better while we are here on earth. From the heart, Ray |
