Subject: Greek genitive cases of the word "of" |
Bible Note: Hi Makarios, Your last paragraph introduces various capitalization choices as well. There is "Holy Spirit of Promise", "promised Holy Spirit", "holy Spirit of promise". I would offer yet another interpretation which I have penciled in for my personal copy. That is, "holy spirit of promise". Ephesians 1:13, In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also believed in Him--you were sealed with this "holy spirit of promise", which is given as a pledge of our inheritance... We have believed the message, the gospel, the word of God and we have believed in Him as the Word also. The word of God, the Scriptures, has been given to us as a down payment until we see the Word in all His glory. From the heart, Ray |
