Bible Question: The Quran says that Abraham PBUH was not a Christian and was not a Jew but was a Muslim. It states that he was not a believer of polytheism. What does the bible say about the Prophet Abraham's beliefs? |
Bible Answer: Seeing as how Christian came into being after Jesus was crucified and the Muslims were several hundred years later and the Jews were actually the decendants of Israel or Jacob, I would say that Abraham basically had no religion as such, he just had a personal relationship with God. He is called the father of many nations, which the Jews did decend thru Issac and the Arabs did decend thru Ishmael, then he had several other sons thru Katurah too. But God make a covenant with Abraham and it was passed down thru Issac, then Jacob, etc, which is the House of Israel so Israel was God's Covenant people. Abraham worshipped the One True God. This not being able to make and symbols is driving me crazy!!! :) |
