Subject: how to start reading the bible? |
Bible Note: Emmaus: Respectfully I disagree with you. I have serious doubts about some ecumenical groups. I do not want to make this an "open fire at me issue", but I do not agree with Catholic theology. There are several areas Doctrine that have a significantly huge gap in what protestants and Catholics. Some protestants do not consider an ecumenical effort with Catholics as anything but compremising their faith. I say this as a point that some protestants have been in Central and South America seeing first hand, what some would call cults syncratised with the Catholic Church. I find no scriture that says we are to pray to and for help from any Apostle or Mary. Pergatory would another issue that there would be no allow middle grounds on which to base a ecumenical movement. I say this not to offend you but to show how some would, with honest protestant beliefs consider Taize a cult. I am such a person. I have spent much time on the Taize web page. So I even recieved the e-mails from them for several months. From my protestant view Taize is a cult. I am concerned that lest anyone believe that there are not Christians in the Catholic Church. I do say the Catholic Church takes tradition and Scripture and makes the both equal. That I find a serious flaw. I understand where you are coming from, and we have dialogued an several issues. I have never let my thoughts and beliefs about the Catholic Church bring distance between us. However, I feel with you belief that Taize in not a cult, and I believe it is, you needed to where I was coming from. Please do not consider this is an attack on you. I accept we have a big gap in our beliefs, and continue from there. Peace be between us. justme |
