Bible Question:
We are new christians. . . recently saved. . . coming from a catholic background. Is there a biblical directive to observe lent? Is lent mentioned in the bible? Thank you in advance for your support! |
Bible Answer: Welcome to the forum, the function of Lent is not supported by Scripture. I can’t give you chapter and verse because it isn’t there, it is merely ritual. If you use the practice that you mentioned and that being show us from Scripture, you will be heading in the right direction as was mentioned of another group in Acts. Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Tie this verse in with another and you will do fine. 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Have a nice Day, CDBJ |
