Bible Question:
David 24597: Oh David! You are missing so very much. "Personally I don't think a christian should pray for themselves." My friend how did you come to that conclusion? Did not Christ go off by Himdelf and pray for Himself? Jusus prayed that if the Cup could be removed to please do so! If you have been neglecting praying for yourself than you are not truly receiving what God wants for your life. Please tellme how you came to this idea. Perhaps there are others like you that could be reached if you share with us how you came to believe this. I am NOT making fun I am very serious and I am concerned for your inrichment as a Christiam. Blessings to you. justme |
Bible Answer: To pray for myself, for me, is an act of selfishness James 4:3. Should I ask for money or a new car or some such material goods? Or should I ask for something I already have the ability to recieve (such as Biblical knowledge)? Shouldn't the christian be more concerned with the welfare of their fellow christians above that of themselves Phil. 2:3? What kind of humility is it if one is only concerned with oneself? God will supply my needs as he sees fit. I have no need to ask Him for anything for myself. He gives me what I need to survive freely without me asking for it Matt. 6:24-34. That's how I see it. |
