Bible Note: Greetings EdB! I read my name! :-) Bascially, there are two reasons for 'de' not to be translated. 1) It is sometimes the written equivalent of our verbal 'umm'. It simply indicates that the writer is continuing the thought and can literally be left untranslated. 2) It is also used in combination with other words which give it a different meaning.
