Subject: Has anyone noticed? |
Bible Note: Hello Bub "Acts 21:20...The subject at hand was not Jewish believers, but newly converted gentiles. If they were exempt, what was the point of mentioning Moses, synagogues and Sabbath?" The Gentile converts were mentioned, but the emphasis of the exchange is on Jewish believers. "Acts 21:25...Are you saying that these are the all inclusive guidelines for all gentiles for all time?" No. I'm saying these suggestions were given at that time so that the new believers from Gentile backgrounds would not be a stumbling-block to the new believers from a Jewish background. They have no other purpose. I used it to show how those former Gentiles were shown to be forbearing to their brethren born under the Law. The Law had no place with these former Gentiles. "AC 17:1 “When they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a JEWISH SYNAGOGUE. [2] AS HIS CUSTOM WAS, PAUL WENT INTO THE SYNAGOGUE, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,..." Excellent point. My mistake. Steve |
