Bible Question:
Dear fellow believers, Not to be dogmatic, but has anyone noticed lately the flood of new members calling Jesus by the name(s) "Yashua", "Y'shua", "Jeshua", etc. I understand that "Jesus" was His name in Greek, and the others(however you want to spell them) are His Hebrew name. But it is awfully peculiar that we have had at least 3 new members calling Him by one of these names within the last week or two. There is a sect called the "Sacred Name" or "House of Yahweh", who DEMAND that we refer to Him by His Hebrew name. And when I used to(used to, that is) go to Christian chat rooms, they would pop in 2 or 3 at a time. I'm not saying this is happening here, but it is quite a coincidence. Again, I don't mean to ruffle feathers, this is just an observation. He is exalted, the King is exalted on High!! 2nd Samuel 22 |
Bible Answer: Hello 2nd Samuel 22 There seems to be a growing movement amongst believers to go back into the Law for their daily lives. They meet on Saturday, observe different feasts, use Hebrew names for different functions and people. They think there is something special about "getting back to our Hebrew roots." Never mind that they are Gentiles by birth. I don't know if this is the case with Simchat Torah, et al. BTW, there have been a few on this forum that did indeed try to convince us that we were required to use the Hebrew for God or Jesus. They didn't last very long on the forum. Steve |
