Bible Question: Where is the scriptual evidence for church chiors? |
Bible Answer: Dear Raven, James 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him SING PSALMS.(KJV) Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with PSALMS AND HYMNS AND SPIRITUAL SONGS, SINGING with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Col 3:17 WHATEVER you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.(NASB) 1 Cor 14:15 What is the outcome then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the mind also. Raven, you mentioned Malachi 3:6, how God never changes. This is true. And there may not be any SPECIFIC mention of choirs, all throughout Scripture we read about singing to the LORD. Look at the titles of so many of the Psalms. They are addressed "To the chief musician..." In Revelations, the angels and the 24 elders come before God with songs and harps. We are to love our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Singing, if it comes from the heart, is pleasing to God, whether one person or an entire choir. May the Grace of Our Lord be with you!! 2nd Samuel 22 |
