Bible Note: Greetings! Oh how I agree with the Word! It is indeed precious and ever so relevant to exactly where we are our daily journey with God. However, I would caution you to not "limit God" just because you have never had the experience of hearing an "audible voice." It is inappropriate to say "people who hear voices tend to ignore the Word." Many believers who are devoted to God and committed to His Word have "heard" an audible voice from the Lord, and others have not. Those words "in my experience" are indeed subjective. Please do not make assumptions of how God wants to get our attention, or communicate with His children based upon those alone! It's like saying, "Because I have never experienced a miraculous healing, God only heals through the practice of available medicine." If God is who HE says HE IS, shouldn't we EXPECT Him to act in a miraculous manner? Seems to me that Scripture sure supports this characterisitic of the God I love and worship! Even those who hear the voice of God through His Word should seek confirmation. Otherwise the "flesh" is suceptible to "interptretation" that is contrary to what God is indeed saying! Yes, the Holy Spirit will guide us into all Truth, but the pathway is paved by our obedience. Many times we must step out in faith, trusting that God will accomplish what HE desires for US as individuals. I encourage you to let God do the leading, even if it is through unfamiliar waters and uncomfortable grounds. Don't deny how God may be working in the life of another just because you have not experienced something or have been disappointed by the failings of others! Blessings, Mommapbs |
