Bible Note: Dear Momma, Heb 1:1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, Heb 1:2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. I've never heard the voice of God. I believe He has said in His Word all that he wanted to say and all that we needed to hear. In my experience, people who hear voices tend to ignor the Word. They may be listening to a certain angel of light for all they know. 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 2 Tim 3:17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for EVERY good work. (my caps) 2 Pet 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 2 Pet 1:3 seeing that His divine power has GRANTED to us EVERYTHING pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. (my caps, "granted" past tense, already been done. "granted... everything": everything "through the true knowledge of Him" (revelation) has already been granted. The listening we need to do is not with our ears for some immediate audible revelation from God, but with our understand of the Word of God, not some subjective voice in our heads. We are lead by His Spirit as we become doers of His Word. Peace, |
