Subject: Why is killing enimies in the OT okay? |
Bible Note: Greetings William, you wrote "I may or may not be chosen to avoid His punishment," The good news of the Gospel is that Jesus took the punishment of God for us. And all who have accepted His free gift of salvation that comes through faith in HIS finished work (HE paid the penalty, HH was punished for OUR sins!)are assured that they will not experience the WRATH of God. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thess 5:9 Do a search on the word "wrath" in the New Testament for similar Scriptures. Yes, I agree that the world will undergo a terrible time of punishment and it is horrifying to consider that those I love will be the recipients of God's Wrath, but it is as you said, "their choice." It is OUR responsibility to make them aware that of what is to come and that they do have a door of opportunity standing open for them to repent and accept Jesus as their Savior!
