Bible Question: Why did Jesus have to be born of a virgin? |
Bible Answer: What has already been posted is correct. I like to relate these Truths to things people can actually see (or at least picture) Imagine God's heaven as a canvas of pure white. He will absolutely not let anything but pure white touch the canvass. Now Man is the brush and is given a palette of pure white and ugly, gruesome black. God tells Man not to touch the black but only the white. When man so much as touches the black, his brush is contaminated. when he goes back to the white, the white is contaminated. The result is he is barred from Heaven with no recourse. Now suppose a man is born and never in his entire life touches the black. He only dwells in the pure white. Can he then go to heaven? No. Because his brush is tainted. Even his "pure" white is contaminated and, hence, not pure. He also is barred from Heaven with no recourse. We are all sons of Adam. (Isaiah 64:6 all our righteous acts are like filthy rags) Jesus came as a clean brush and dwelt only in the pure white. (Born of a virgin, sinless life) Now He is able to dwell in heaven. (paint on the canvass) Since the wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23) Christ owed no penalty, but paid it anyway. Because He paid a penalty not due, He is able to apply the justification to an infinite number of those to whom it is due. (John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name) |
