Subject: AGE OF ACCOUNTIBILITY |
Bible Note: Of course young children have an idea of God's law. It is written upon their hearts: "For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them." --Romans 2:14-15 We do not have to be read the Old Testament to know right from wrong. A child may not know the number of the commandment, but they were given a moral sense which clearly tells them that they should honor their parents. No one truly goes through their whole lives without understanding or excuse, because the existence of God is written on the fabric of creation as well (Romans 1:18-20). No one, from infant to geriatric, is ever without excuse. Romans 2:1 reinforces this as well. --Joe! |
