Bible Note: Dear JMR, The Catholic Bibles include books called the Apocrypha. These are Hebrew Books which were not accepted in the Jewish Canon at the time of the New Testament writings. They are not considered Scripture. They are, however, valid writings of the Hebrews, just not "God-breathed,"or given by direct inspiration of God. The two books of the Machabees are accounts concerning the time between the testaments. The Apocrypha are not referred to by the New Testament writers. All the other books are referred to except, I believe, the Song of Solomon. These books of the Apocrypha are: Tobias or Tobit Judith Wisdom Sirach Baruch 1 Machabees 2 Machabees, Itiswritten |
