AMPLIFIED 2015 | Jude 1:5 ¶ Now I want to remind you, although you are fully informed once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe [who refused to trust and obey and rely on Him]. [Num 14:27-37] |
Subject: Can salvation be lost? |
Bible Note: I can only repeat what the Bible clearly teaches as follows 1 John 1:4 These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. 1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; 1 John 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. Here, we see we're all guilty of sin and like you mentioned, every day we're guilty at the very least of NOT doing all the good we can possibly think of. So what are we to do? I would refer to those verses that speak to the "practice" of sin. If we're living our lives on a continuing basis, repeating our sins over and over again with no real intent of repenting and giving up those sins of commission or omission, that's where we run into trouble. We MUST make it a part of our routine, at least on a daily basis of repenting of our sins that day and asking for forgiveness so as to stay in good fellowship with our God and our His family here on earth. Hope this helps. Blessings to you. Country Girl |
