Subject: Is asking for money false? |
Bible Note: Greetings Mark...Below are Scriptures that show indeed we are to "sell all", but again, not necessarily "all our possessions". Selling All is of the same origin and purpose as when Jesus said in John 6, "If you dont eat my flesh, and drink my blood, you aren't worthy of me..." ***He that hath ears, let Him hear... Greetings Doc, I appreciate your response, however again, "you seem to be missing the foundational point"...Paul, Barnabas, and all other Faithful Christians that "we Idolize" today, had sold all and were aliens. Is this not clear? I don't mean this disrespectfully, but the Faithful's position of being in, but "not of" the world/their culture is paramount to a proper understanding. Everything you or I do rest on either the Foundation of Christ/True Repentance...or on Man/might and power and human princples/sinking sand... ...need I remind you "The Flesh counts 4 nothing, and if Christ indeed is the power in "your sails", you will not sail using human principles in the name of Jesus??? (Read Col 2 and all of Galatains) This issue of "Selling All" isn't some secondary or outdated issue.(The temptation is to dismiss this "truth that Jesus taught and reason, "well we are doing good things, so "selling all isn't necessary" (Well question is, "Is the church really doing good things???" Woe to them that call good evil and evil good!!!) This is "The Foundational Issue". If you look in the Gospels you will see repeatedly that the Cost of Discipleship was/is "Selling All". You can't even be discipled until you sell all. Therefore if there are souls that are living out the 5 Offices and haven't sold all, well "I think the implications", are obvious? I am more than willing to share truth, but it would be nice to have "someone receive it"( I am not whining, to the contrary I have sorrow upon sorrow...), however Jesus had the same problem. He often remarked on how little to no faith there was as He traveled from town to town, etc... Of course, today we are under the "delusion" there is such a "bountiful harvest", but only problem is the Harvest is of the Tares, not the Wheat... Many are called, but "few" our chosen. They will praise HIM with thier lips, but their heart will be far from HIM...They think they will be heard for their many words, and they give out of their abundance. Does any of this sound familiar??? I hope in your case it isn't, however in my neck of the woods there is a church on every corner, but the smell of death permeates my nostrils. Of course, this shouldnt be surprising since Scripture says Jesus will return as in the Days of Noah. If you recall their were only 8 saved in the Days of Noah. Now of course, there is a exponentially greater world population now, however, "you do the math". Anyway, thanks for your respectful email, and I look forward to hearing from you again... "Sell All" Scriptures: Matt 13:44 "The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 2 Matt 19:21 Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." 4 Mark 10:21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, "One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." Acts 2:45 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. I have shared truth, whether you receive it or not, is between you and God. If you have any "sincere" questions about "selling all", I will be happy to answer them and share scripture, but I will not debate "this obvious truth" any more...( I say this with soberness, not anger.) Crucified in HIM, Luis |
