Bible Question (short): Is Jesus Christ God? Is He your Lord? |
Question (full): Hello deep input, You wrote: “Verses 8-11, however, say not to call anybody rabbi(pastor), father, master. Is it ok to ignore this because we feel in our hearts that it is ok to call people pastor or father. “ You equate rabbi and pastor. But the bible or dictionary does not. Why did you throw that (pastor) into the scripture? Mat 23 8 "But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 "Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 "Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ. 11 "But the greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 "Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted. rabbi n 1: spiritual leader of a Jewish congregation; qualified to expound and apply Jewish law 2: a Hebrew title of respect for a Jewish scholar or teacher Pastor 1: A Christian minister or priest having spiritual charge over a congregation or other group. 2: A layperson having spiritual charge over a person or group. 3: A shepherd. You do not need to call me “pastor”, “brother” will do just fine. I have a question for you too. Is Jesus Christ God? Is He your Lord? Brother Glenn |
