AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 2:1 My little children (believers, dear ones), I am writing you these things so that you will not sin and violate God's law. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate [who will intercede for us] with the Father: Jesus Christ the righteous [the upright, the just One, who conforms to the Father's will in every way--purpose, thought, and action]. |
Subject: Do gays and lesobians go to hell? |
Bible Note: We can know to some degree the mind of God b/c of the Word He has provided us, but we can never be certain of the final judgment to condemn one to hell. The verse you seek is, "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven" (Luke 6:37). Now, the context here is loving your enemies and forgiving their sin so that you will not become take revenge which is reserved for God alone. I am not asserting that believers are not capable of knowing some of the criteria for how God Judges. Niether am I saying that it is wrong for believers to warn people of impending hell fire. I am saying that we are not privy to the heart of any man in the last hours of his life and that the judgment is left to God alone. For any of us to say that we know w/ certainty that some one went to hell when they died reveals our pride and ignorance. |
