AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 2:1 My little children (believers, dear ones), I am writing you these things so that you will not sin and violate God's law. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate [who will intercede for us] with the Father: Jesus Christ the righteous [the upright, the just One, who conforms to the Father's will in every way--purpose, thought, and action]. |
Subject: We have an Advocate! |
Bible Note: We have an Advocate! ******************************** Jesus Christ is our Advocate! The Father's one and only Son, who speaks in our behalf! Jesus will be our Helper as we seek justification before God, and He and the Holy Spirit will never leave us (John 14:16). Satan, of course, is our accuser (Zech. 3; Rev. 12:10), making our need for the Son of God, the Advocate, all that much greater! In Him alone is salvation, since there is no other name by which we can be saved (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). And the Lord, our Advocate, not only represents us and is sympathetic to our concerns, but He also guarantees our acquittal (Heb. 4:14-16), even in light of all of our accusations! And all we need to do is to trust in Him. Praise the Lord! Makarios |
