AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Peter 4:6 For this is why the good news [of salvation] was preached [in their lifetimes] even to those who are dead, that though they were judged in the flesh as men are, they may live in the spirit according to [the will and purpose of] God. |

Bible Note: Greetings Angel! I was going to respond to your points, but I see that Steve already did an excellent job! :-) Allow me to simply recap some salient points. 1) Scripture and Holy Spirit: Scripture is the only universally authoritative revelation. The Holy Spirit will never 'reveal' anything that is contrary to Scripture. However, the Holy Spirit may change our understanding of a passage in such a way that we understand it more fully. The Holy Spirit may speak to personal areas of my life, but they won't necessarily be applicable to you. 2) No Boundaries! The only boundaries upon God are His own character and nature. God cannot lie! So, if His word says something, He will live up to it. 3) Children! As Steve mentioned, I believe Scripture makes the case that those who are unable to accept or reject Christ are covered by the atonement. 4) Narratives! I am not saying that narratives are meaningless. I am saying that one cannot turn narratives into imperatives. I can preach about the early church sharing all that they had as an example of how we can live as believers, but I would be wrong to preach that it means we MUST live that way.
