Bible Question: ok! did jesus go to hell when he was hung on the cross or was he up with his father for three days. it would be cool if i could get some scripture. |
Bible Answer: germz: Welcome to the Bible study Forum! You asked a quite common question that often gets the fir standing on edge. This teaching of Jesus going to hell is from the WORD OF FAITH MOVEMENT. Such teachers as Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Keneth Haggen and many more present this view. The more Christian Orthodox view says this a serious misuse of scriptual meaning. The ultimate question is why would God bow down to satan, and fight him for souls, when God is creator of everything including satan? The thought of this is repulsive. The expression of such is complete ignorance, and an attempt to mislead people to believe satan is a greater power than Jesus Christ. I see others have given you lots of scripture, so I am attempting to give you a logical view. I hope this helps, and would like to hear what you think. Blessings to you. justme |
