Bible Question:
Robert- Isn't there only one other "Royal priest" mentioned in the bible - Melchizedek- Heb. 7:1; Psalm 110:4; Gen. 14:18; and these verses are also stating what position we are to God? I'm not sure where this is going - if anywhere, But does this not mean and states again, that we are to be, or are, given the same access to the Lord, through Jesus, as Jesus has? We are heirs to the King (royal) and we have access (priesthood). What an honor! And how humbling. Debbie |
Bible Answer: Hi glory777, When you talk of access to God I think of the Spirit. So I believe that when one thinks of the high priest, he/she should think of the High Priest, capital letters, so that they come in humbleness as you say. For our High Priest is not like the high priests who had to offer up sacrifices first for their own sins. He is the sinless One, we are the sinners. So, Robert, I would say that not only is Christ the King, He is the Priest. I believe that that is important to show the difference between God and us. I praise God with you both for His new covenant of grace. From the heart, Ray |
