NASB | 1 Peter 2:24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Peter 2:24 He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross [willingly offering Himself on it, as on an altar of sacrifice], so that we might die to sin [becoming immune from the penalty and power of sin] and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you [who believe] have been healed. |
Subject: Healing by Strips physical or not |
Bible Note: This is a statement to JBW who answered my question. Thank you! I have done some research and have come up with some interesting things. Jesus does require us to confess our faults one to another. James 5 confessing our faults one to another that you might be healed. In this I'm not sure the context flows with a physical healing but surely a enter healing of the heart mind and spirit. But there are other areas in scipture that reveals that we are healed by his strips--meaning sin forgiven not physical healing. I'm incline to trust that God has healing for us physically because he healed the man in the new testament by stating your SINS be forgiven you. This is evidence enough for me. I just can't remember where I read it. (smile.) My latest delema is if I'm to believe for salvation/etenal life then surely to believe for a physical healing would be easy and carefully noted. I'm really looking at this carefully. |
