NASB | James 3:1 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 3:1 Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly]. |
Bible Question: Some teachers who are believers strictly teach that salvation once received can not be lost - some 'fruit' can be lost - joy, peace, even some blessings - but they teach that salvation can not be lost.....can someone help me with this? scripture, thoughts??? Is salvation truly secured from God with the 'confession that Christ is personal savior, that Christ is the son of God and that Christ died for our sins on the cross and was resurrected'? or do we as believers have to perservere in obedience to the end before salvation is insured? and what of the teachers that teach the 'wrong' message....this would seem to be an essential message for teachers to get 'right' and there remains quite allot of disagreement among teachers on this issue. |
Bible Answer: Sharonaharris: Often when asked this question, I wonder why are they asking this question. Sometimes, what a person is asking is really what little is required of me to be assured I will make it to heaven. If that's the real question I would say that person has not a clue what salvation is. Hebrews 7:24 to 25. If we have made Christ our LORD (boss) of our lives we are saved completly! John 10:28 says "no one can snatch then out of my hand," Ephesians 1:13 to 14 says "you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession to the praise og His glory" I believe that if you are genuinely born again than you are sealed by Christ's Grace. I also believe that faith that faulters, has a flaw in it from the first. Many famous people have made big brazen statements of being "saved" and people put them in the line light and then they fall flat. Little Richard, famous rock and roll piano player singer is a prime example. The list is very long and sad. Did he lose his salvation? some might say yes. But I would say he was never saved at all. Paul warns us many times not to look back, and warns us not to turn back. I will say there is blackslidden, or carnal Christians. Have they lost their salvation? No, but there is discipline, Hebrews 12:3 to 12 explaines this so perfectly. Now to those who would not agree with me, and they have a genuine way to believe,(I don't agree with)but there is no reason to disfellowship with a fellow believer over this.
