NASB | James 3:1 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 3:1 Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly]. |
Bible Question (short): what then is the judgement of teachers |
Question (full): Thank you , your answer does help.....one thing further, the judgement of believers specifically teachers being more strictly judged....what is this judgement then if a teacher should be found severly wanting in their message - what exactly is the judgement for believers where 'strictly' certainly indicates warning and also alludes to levels of consequences - if we are in heaven because we have believed and confessed that belief - why such a strident warning against even mistakes in teaching? (not refering to purposeful false teachers in this question) |
