NASB | Hebrews 6:6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 6:6 and then have fallen away--it is impossible to bring them back again to repentance, since they again nail the Son of God on the cross [for as far as they are concerned, they are treating the death of Christ as if they were not saved by it], and are holding Him up again to public disgrace. |
Subject: Un-repented Sin |
Bible Note: Greetings Doc, Excellent post and verse - 1 Peter 3:18! Christ died once for all sins, whether they be committed before we are saved or 'unconfessed' when we die: Romans 6:10 "For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God." Hebrews 7:27 "who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself" Hebrews 9:12 "and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption." Hebrews 10:10 "By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." Jude 1:3 "Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints." We just keep coming back again and again to Hebrews 7-10 don't we? :-) Blessings to you, Makarios |
