NASB | Hebrews 6:6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 6:6 and then have fallen away--it is impossible to bring them back again to repentance, since they again nail the Son of God on the cross [for as far as they are concerned, they are treating the death of Christ as if they were not saved by it], and are holding Him up again to public disgrace. |
Bible Question (short): Impossible to renew to repentance? |
Question (full): Does anyone have good insight into the meaning of this passage? It seems to suggest that if you hear the truth of the gospel, and then reject it, you will never be given another opportunity. But that conclusion seems to condradict a God who is long-suffering and not willing that any should perish. I intended for the scripture reference to show verse 4,5 and 6 but couldn't find a way to make it list all 3 verses. Thanks, fellow Bereans. |
