Bible Question: does this passage teach that it is possible to lose your salvation? |
Bible Answer: I would refer you to 2 Pet 2 as follows: 21It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22Of them the proverbs are true: "A dog returns to its vomit,"[6] and, "A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud." Also Paul is quite adament with 1 Cor 9:27. It seems Paul and Peter are firmly committed to the possibility that we as God's children can reverse our mindset and go back to the world of the Devil. I really don't know what the scripture in Heb 6:4; it guess it sounds like a contradiction but I don't think so. All I know is the plain, straight forward scriptures as cited above. I also believe in the adage, "Better safe than sorry." God bless. |
