NASB | Hebrews 2:17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 2:17 Therefore, it was essential that He had to be made like His brothers (mankind) in every respect, so that He might [by experience] become a merciful and faithful High Priest in things related to God, to make atonement (propitiation) for the people's sins [thereby wiping away the sin, satisfying divine justice, and providing a way of reconciliation between God and mankind]. |
Subject: DID JESUS EVER MARRY OR HAVE THE TEMPTAT |
Bible Note: Suzyq: Jesus did not experience being: a) a women b) a gentile c) a person living in our modern world And yet he is still able to be our High Priest who knows our needs and cares. Did he want to have a wife. The Bible doesn't say. However, in the verses from Isaiah 53 we relize that there was no one to carry on his generation. We find however, that his seed is a spiritual generation, namely those who have been saved by faith in his redemptive work. Please do not allow things which we are not told to distract you from the main person, our Lord Jesus Christ who died for our sins and arose from the dead for our justification. May God bless you and your friends as you study his word. Robert |
