NASB | Hebrews 13:17 ¶ Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 13:17 ¶ Obey your [spiritual] leaders and submit to them [recognizing their authority over you], for they are keeping watch over your souls and continually guarding your spiritual welfare as those who will give an account [of their stewardship of you]. Let them do this with joy and not with grief and groans, for this would be of no benefit to you. |
Subject: Why is marijuana use prohibited? |
Bible Note: Just to add a little now after reading my posted message. I must also point out that when I listed the "fruits" of smoking I was reffering to this from the perspective of even if you DONT go to other drugs which we do know occurs in most users (it did for me but then i stopped and only smoked marijuana for awhile). I didnt feel the need to go into all the obvious reasons smoking pot is clearly wrong. We know God wants us to follow the laws of our country like the Hebrew passage indicates and others actually. We also know the horrible effects it can have on a mind that is young and growing and trying to discern right from wrong under the cloud and distraction of pot. I am trying to speak to Jinni and how I saw her in her writing. I envisioned one of the "good people" I described earlier who just also happens to smoke. I wrote my words for her. Not to write an essay on how the common view of the world see's pot smoking. I just hope ive helped you think a bit more on what should be just as important of a decision as any other sin you should be nailing to the cross and following our Jesus Jinni... I really just wanted you to think about it picturing God sitting next to you and have you ask yourself again if its wrong. |
