AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality--faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. |
Subject: More on faith? |
Bible Note: Dear jim, Yes, 2 Peter 1:5-8 does speak of the 'application' of faith. Brother orthodoxy used a similar argument citing our 'allocation' of faith. Now, Galatians 5:22 says, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,..." (NASB). Faithfulness is the same word as faith (pistis). The origin is, of course, the Holy Spirit, but fruit impies that the amount is subject to increase (and, unfortunately, decrease). Thank you for your comments and Scriptures. In Jesus, charis |
