AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality--faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. |
Bible Question (short): Allocation or possession? |
Question (full): Dear orthodoxy,Thank you for a good answer. Indeed, there can be no doubt that the origin of faith is from God, and that it is a gift poured out in love and grace. I am not sure what you meant in the last sentence. Though I agree that it is not something we naturally possess, I was under the impression that there were varying 'measures' of faith, which would explain the Lord's words of encouragement to those of 'little faith' and also th those of 'great faith.' Is the 'measure of faith' from Romans 12:3 a constant? Then, would the problem be in allocation, not possession? (I think it can be agreed that faith is not manifest in the lives of believers in the same manner) Thank you for your comments. In Christ Jesus, charis |
