Subject: Operate on faith or endure? |
Bible Note: Hi Ed. Sorry I am late. I have been having technical difficulty. This response may be broken up into several small continuations. Let's begin with the issue of obligating God. The misconception seems to be that I believe God is obligated to my faith, even if I ask against aHis will. I have never said that, nor have I heard anyone else say that. Since this response is not to defend KC I intend to state my belief according to what I see in scripture. Covenant: 1.A formal agreement 2.the conditional promises made to humanity by God as revealed in scripture. Hebrews 8:10-12 (God speaking) This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall not teach one another or say to each other, " Know the Lord" for they shall all know me, from the least to the greatest. Obligation: the act of bining oneself, a duty, contract, promise, a social, moral or legal requirement that compels one to avoid or follow a course of action. If God initiated the covenant, has He not obligated Himself to keep it? Hebrews 10:19- Thereforem my friends, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain(that is through his flesh) and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, washed with pure water. Let us hold fast to the confession of hope without wavering FOR HE WHO PROMISED IS FAITHFUL. Continued........ |
