Bible Question (short): A fanatic, a zealot or a prophet? |
Question (full): I am an elder in our church and have been a Christan for over 50 years, (thank God) am still in the maturing process! I am struggling with a problem of discernment. We have a woman in our church who believes that she hears 'Truth' directly from God. She also totally believes that she hears in a Special way. She is a good woman, and I believe she is sincere. She is coming before our Bd of Elders this week, because she wishes to address the congregation. Because of past experience, I believe that she borders on being fanatical...but how do I know that she is not a Spirit filled prophet? On a personal level she makes me very, very uncomfortable. I need to get past that personal feeling, and understand that she 'might' indeed be led by Christ. Please help. |
