Bible Question: I am an elder in our church and have been a Christan for over 50 years, (thank God) am still in the maturing process! I am struggling with a problem of discernment. We have a woman in our church who believes that she hears 'Truth' directly from God. She also totally believes that she hears in a Special way. She is a good woman, and I believe she is sincere. She is coming before our Bd of Elders this week, because she wishes to address the congregation. Because of past experience, I believe that she borders on being fanatical...but how do I know that she is not a Spirit filled prophet? On a personal level she makes me very, very uncomfortable. I need to get past that personal feeling, and understand that she 'might' indeed be led by Christ. Please help. |
Bible Answer: ShelDee I too have been in a situation like that, this woman also made me uncomfortable at times. But she did prophesy to me once and told me things that was going on at the time that lined up. It gave me peace. It was like God let her in on some things about me that I hadnt revealed. But people seen her as a fanatical too. I think its just something we have to pray about, God will not let us be led astray, somehow somewhere he will reveal to us the truth. Just like anyone else, take what is said and pray about it. |
