Subject: Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? |
Bible Note: Mark, Are you a Messianic Jew? Why are you defending the Jews and the Law? Peter said in Acts 15:10, why do you (Jews) put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear.Isaiah said in Acts 28:27... the heart of these people (Jews) is waxed gross, and their ears and eyes have they closed...Be it known...that salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it (gospel). However, I know the Jews will have their time of salvation, Heb 10:16. You said the early Gentiles had the apostles who penned the New Testament. Sir, only three of the disciples penned the New Testament. Paul wrote 14 books of the N.T; Luke, the only Gentile to write any of the bible, wrote 2 books; Mark, not an apostle, wrote 1; and James, the Lord's brother wrote 1. You also said, "they devoted themselves to the apostle's teaching, to fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. Who are the "they", Gentiles or Jews? That scripture is in Acts 2. There were no Gentile converts at that time, were there? You ask what part of the of the Law is unimportant. All of the bible is important for instruction in righteousness, doctrine, etc., but there are 613 laws that do not all apply to me. I do not wear tassels on the 4 corners of my garments, or have a fence around my roof,or stone my disobedient children, or kill people caught in adultery, or offer animals as sacrifices, or never go into the Holy of Holies, put idol worshippers to death, etc.? The Law was a schoolmaster that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the schoolmaster. The Law is not of faith, Christ redeemed us from the Law. Trying to live under the Law frustrates the Grace of God, it says Jesus was not enough. Read Gal. 3. Bereaniam |
