Bible Question:
I'm not sure what you are trying to ask of me, but I'll try my best to answer what I think you are asking me. If I did answer you how you like or not, please reply. Yes, one must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God (as you stated in John 3:3 and 3:7), but you (and most people) read John 3:5 with a misunderstanding. John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. The one being "born of water" is the actual birth of a child from the mother’s birth canal. In the following verse in context explains that well: John 3:6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. Water Baptism is not required for your salvation, if it were that would make Jesus' work on the cross for us insufficient. In God's Grace, Ric |
Bible Answer: Ric, you have given me some insight. What about being born of the spirit? Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. I believe Jesus is also speaking of the Holy Ghost in John 3:3, 3:5, 3:7. If we are to be baptised in the spirit as we both(?) agree it is also commanded of us to be baptised by the water. Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. :48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. I believe therefore, that we not only need to Baptized by the Holy Ghost but also of the water. 1st Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. :21 The like fugure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us...
