NASB | Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always]. |
Subject: Peace a good deciding factor? |
Bible Note: Hi Doc, You are right! There are problems among all these languages (I can't justify for Tamil, but it is so for Malay, Mandarin and its dialects and Japanese). But each has its beauty and culture that God has placed its significance. Perhaps that's why some of us used dynamic equivalence paraphrases for better understanding of the text. As for me, I am self-learning Greek and desire to feel the sense of the words and the letters of NT. That I may be a good workman rightly dividing the word of truth and be a better testimony to everyone. Maybe next time I will pickup Hebrew too! :p Yup! As 3:15 continues, in living in peace among men, God grants peace so that we may continue in living and to be thankful. Thank you for your words of encouragement! I just long to have more people around me who will love God's word and to be a swordsman welding the sword! God Bless!
