Subject: In what way is Christ God's mystery? |
Bible Note: Hi tortoise, The word “mystery”, as found in Col. 1:26 has an interesting etymology. Col. 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: It comes to us from the Greek word MUSTERION, which was a word that was frequently used by those in a Greek fraternity. It meant the secrets of that special organization or group and the secrets were only known by those that were actual members of that particular organization or group known as brothers; the secrets were known but just by a select few, just like those in Christ or the saints. Only God can revel the secrets to his chosen few or the sanctified ones, saints. Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Have a great day, CDBJ |
