AMPLIFIED 2015 | Philippians 3:20 But [we are different, because] our citizenship is in heaven. And from there we eagerly await [the coming of] the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; |
Subject: Why do you wait? |
Bible Note: 'Not only Jehovah's Witnesses recognized 1914 as the end of "the times of the Gentiles" as mentioned in Luke 21:24, KJV. There were a number of clergymen in the 19th century who did so, and others. As you may know, we have taught this since 1876.' Actually, the Watchtower has NOT taught this since 1876. Originally, 1914 was the date for the end of the world. That prophecy having failed, it became the date of the invisible return of Jesus. The end of the world was then pushed up to 1918, then 1925, then 1975. I am still waiting for the Watchtower to be right. I am not going on hearsay. You can read previous issues of Watchtower magazine from those days and see clearly the changed prophecies of "God's infallible organization." Investigate it for yourself and show me to be wrong, if indeed I am. http://www.watchman.org/jw/1914hst2.htm http://www.watchman.org/jw/whist1.htm http://www.watchman.org/jw/1404-2.htm Photocopies of the original documents are available if you think quotes are being taken out of context: http://www.watchman.org/jwtools.htm If you have an answer to these quotes, I certainly welcome them. I wouldn't want to be accused of misrepresenting JW history. --Joe! |
